NEWS: NAUTICAM READY TO SHIP THEIR NA-GX1 HOUSING FOR PANASONIC GX1

Nauticam NA-GX1 housing

UPDATE: READ THE FULL REVIEW HERE. Without wanting to sound like free advertising for Nauticam group here’s another nice new product from the company. This time it is for the nice Panasonic GX1 system compact camera, which is also the tool almost all Deepshots pictures are taken. Not a surprise that Nauticam once again is the first company to bring out a casing for the Panasonic camera

The housing looks, as always, dinky and amazingly ergonomic. It seems like it actually is a completely new mould and does not really resemble the previous Nauticam system compact housings. The company also says that the new NA-GX1 is priced agressively to appeal new underwater photographers. I wonder if this will mean that the housings is going to be sub 1000 pounds.

NA-GX1 rear viewWhat is really interesting with the Panasonic GX1, that with the new 14-42 X lens you could possibly use wet wide angle lenses with the housing. The new Lumix 14-42 X lens has a similar kind of pump action than the Olympus zoom lenses have which makes this possible. We need to wait to see this in flesh though… The motor zoomed Lumix 14-42 X lens will also be zoomable inside the port with a some sort of a zoom lever adapter that Nauticam will also supply. Lets hope I can get this little beauty underwater soon for a full review. Stay Tuned
